snapshots of our valentines weekend

Here's just a couple of cute pictures I thought I'd post. These were all taken Valentines weekend when everyone wasn't feeling the greatest, especially Ethan. He was running a temp of like 103.8 which was pretty frightening to wake up next to a sizzling hot boy at 2 am. The whole weekend he just wanted to sit on the couch with Mommy and Daddy and to sleep. In this picture, Ethan was sitting with Dad while he chatted with gma and gpa W.

In the next pictures, we had just gotten Ethan out of the bath because his temp was up again and while he was cuddling with Dad and trying to play with his cars, he fell asleep and Rory had to hold his head up. Poor boy, it totally broke my heart that he felt so crappy and I couldn't make him better.Anyhow, after a couple days the fever broke and Ethan was back to his same ol' destructive self.

A crazy month

So everything here has been pretty crazy with work, Ethan's been sick, Rory's been looking for a new job, etc. But just this last Tuesday was my birthday, and even though I had to go to work, it was a good day. My co-workers sang happy birthday to me, and I was able to cut out of work a little early, which is always nice. When I got home, mom stopped by and brought me a birthday cake which was a bit of a surprise. When we were lighting the candles, Ethan kept trying to blow them out before they were all even lit. He was just so excited! It was really cute.

Then Rory took me out to dinner to a new restaurant in town. (Mom had given me a gift card there for my b-day) It was really good. We got home and Rory said he hadn't had time to get me anything, so we left again and drove to wal-mart where he bought me a hot pink ipod. (WOOHOO!) Now on my half hour commute each morning
and evening, I have a good selection of tunes and podcasts. So it was a great birthday. Thanks to everyone for the great birthday wishes!!!

emotional rollercoaster

So monday I started my new job at the Inestigation company, and so far I've really enjoyed it. I like my boss, my supervisor, my co-workers, what I do...etc, etc. In the company, there's pretty much two separate divisions, criminal, and power plants. I don't know anything really about the criminal, because I'm in the power plant division. We do pre-employment screening for major power plants, and nuclear plants. So it's pretty interesting work. But as much as I like it, it is one of the most difficult jobs I have ever done. Mostly because this is the first job I've had to put Ethan in a daycare. It seriously kills Rory and me every morning when we're getting ready to leave. Ethan knows what's coming and cries. He's been having rough nights too. It's like he's afraid we're going to leave him, so he constantly wakes up calling us even though we're laying right next to him. *Sigh* It breaks my heart. If there was any other way, we'd do it. Luckily, my shift changes next week, so I'll be working 1-9pm. So Ethan will only have to be in daycare from noon to 5 when Rory gets him. It sucks still, but It's a little better. So that's our life now. It's just as wild as ever!
