Simple pleasures

This weekend, we decided to head out for a bite to eat, and on our way in, Ethan kept seeing puddles he wanted to jump in. (it was raining) We told him to wait until after dinner, then on the way to the car, he could find a couple good puddles to jump into. Here's a couple pictures. Just the look on his face just shows how fun he thinks it is. It mades you really think about the simple pleasures there are in life. We just have to take some time to stop and enjoy them.

Autumn

Wow it has felt like a million years since I have posted a blog! Sorry all! Everything here is going great. The months are just flying by and I only have about 6 weeks left until the big day! Everything with the pregnancy is going great. I have been feeling pretty good, except for being super tired all the time. Good thing I have Ethan to get me out of bed every day, otherwise I might just stay in there night and day. We have talked with the dr, and as long as everything is looking good, and my body is showing signs of readiness to deliver, they are going to induce me the week before my due date. That way Rory can be there and not 45 minutes away from the hospital at work, and also so we can make sure that my parents can watch ethan. Here's a couple pics from our little outing to the local pumpkin patch.

In other eventful news, we have added two cats to our home. We had talked about it for a couple weeks, and then went to the local animal shelter. We were just planning on getting one, but couldn't decide between these two lovies. They are both older, and were rescued from a hoarding house that was in awful condition. Now they are in a very loving home (somedays ethan is a bit too loving though).

Halloween was fantastic. We celebrated the whole weekend; friday, sat. and sunday. Friday night Rory's work had a pumpkin carving party for the employees. Ethan got to dress up, get some goodies, and carve some pretty awesome pumpkins. Saturday, we went to the ward trunk-or-treat and carnival. Ethan was a bit tired, and so didn't get too into it, but he still came out with some goodies, and had fun playing some games. Sunday was trick or treating in our neighborhood. I was pretty surprised because before we took ethan out, i was trying to get him to eat some dinner. While he was sitting at the table, the doorbell would ring, and ethan would have a hissy fit! He would start screaming/crying and run off to his room. I was baffled by his behavior! After grandma and grandpa came over to help pass out the candy, we went out to the houses in the neighborhood. Ethan was such a bum though,  if he was given a candy he didn't like, he would try to give it back, and say, "i don't like that". One house, she told him to pick a candy, and he said he didn't like any of them. She said she was sorry, and ethan came up to grandpa and said he was done and wanted to go home. He was a bit grumpy, but then we found out his cousins were just headed out around the neighborhood, so we took Ethan around with the cousins and he had a lot more fun. It's crazy what goes through kids' heads!

So here's a few pics from the last few months!

baby update

So on the 16th of July, we had our first ultrasound. I was ecstatic to see the baby, and to make sure everything was looking okay. As soon as I saw it, I was so relieved, and just happy that it looked good. We got some good profile pics, and a pic of it's arm. We didn't get a for sure shot on the sex of the baby, but the ultrasound tech said she thought it was a boy, just 'don't paint anything yet'. When I went to the dr. right after the ultrasound, he said that my fluid levels were low, and that we needed to watch them very closely. I was scheduled in for another ultrasound on the 30th to double check the levels. In the meantime, I was supose to drink, drink, and then drink some more. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. lol. But the dr. said that if the levels didn't increase, then I would have to go on bed rest. YIKES! So the two weeks dragged by. Yesterday morning, I was so nervous to go to the dr. But we got there and had the ultrasound again. I loved seeing the baby. The baby was a bit more cooperative, and we saw for sure, that we will be adding another precious boy to our family. We also  found out following the ultrasound, that my fluid levels had gone up. I was relieved to hear that the baby was okay, and that everything was looking better. Woohoo! Here's just a couple of the ultrasound pics.

Summertime!

Here's some pics of the guys relaxing and playing in the little pool we have for ethan.

On the 4th of July weekend, we went to a demolition derby, and then on the 4th, we had a bbq and fireworks at our house. Here's just a couple pics of the events.
Here are just a few other random pics from this summer.

finally summer (sort of)

So the weather has been awfully rainy the last month or two, with a day here and there that's beautiful. We try to take advantage of those days as much as possible whenever they happen, to play outside and for ethan to ride his bike. This last weekend was pretty nice, so we ended up going overto Post Falls days, down by the river. There was a bunch of people there, but it was fun, and I even got a small sunburn. This year, they had a mini carnival, so ethan was dying to go on the rides. I got a couple pictures that I'll try to post, but I'm not sure if my blackberry will let me. It was a great day. It's amazing how big ethan is getting too. I continue to be amazed by him every day!

our updated lives

So this is the first time I'm trying to blog off of my blackberry. We'll see how it goes. So if there's a lot of typos, that's because the 'keyboard' is tiny! Since feb. a lot of things have changed. The first is that my work laid off most of us because work got slow. So I've been staying at home with ethan and LOVING it! The other big change is that we found out that we are expecting our second child! We are so excited, but it still seems a little unreal. Our new addition will be here around Dec. 16th. Ethan is excited (some days) and he was the one who broke the news to my parents. We invited them over for dinner, and right when they walked in he door, ethan said 'come look at the baby in mommy!' My mom was completely shocked, and wasn't expecting it at all. The last few weeks since I found out, I've been pretty sick. With ethan, there was no morning sickness, and I felt great! This time the dr. Has given my nausea medicine, which helps a lot, but knocks me on my butt! I get so tired on them. Rory and my mom have been great. They've been supportive and understanding, and my mom has taken ethan quite a bit to give me a break. I don't know what I'd do without them. So this is a BIG thank you from the bottom of my heart. So, that's the news for now!

what's going on?

So there's quite a few explanations as to why it has been so long since I have blogged. I guess the main reason is that our Internet is currently down. We have been going through some frustrating stuff with our Internet. We use Road Runner (Time Warner Cable) for our Internet, and they quarantined our modem, so we can't access the Internet at all at home. The company told us there was a computer bug on our computer (koobface) and it was sending out all this malware through our computer. So we had to get our computer repaired (cleaned off) by a professional, and managed to finally get that done two days ago. So yesterday I tried calling the company to tell them it was done, and they told us they had re-quarantined it! AHHH! I couldn't believe it. I don't know what's going on. I think the most frustrating thing is that I rely on the Internet quite a bit, and my little blackberry, just isn't fast enough. Plus the cable company is still sending us regular bills expecting us to pay for a service we are not actually getting!
So anyways if you're wondering, I am actually using my parent's computer right now, with the hopes that one day in the not so distant future, we will have our Internet service back up and running. Our lives have pretty much been the same as always. Rory just got his wisdom teeth out last weekend, and Ethan went to the dentist for the first time yesterday. He was very good, and from what the dentist saw, there really wasn't anything problematic. YA! We're trying to potty train Ethan too, and it is going SUPER slow. For the most part, Ethan just doesn't have any interest in it whatsoever.
Work is going about the same, Rory is still working graveyard shift, and I've cut my hours back to part-time. I am really getting burned out. When Monday's roll around, it takes EVERYTHING i have to get out of bed and take Ethan to the sitter's. I really miss the days that my only worries were taking care of my family, and my house. Now it seems like there's a billion things that need to get done that never do. Our house is in a constant state of disaster, looking like some kind of nuclear explosion went off in the living room. I would take a picture to prove it, but it would just be too embarrassing! So that's it for now. I will post some pictures when I'm finally back on my own computer. Hope everyone else is doing well!
