Olympic National Forest 8/15/09

So this last weekend was our 6 year anniversary, and Rory and I decided to head over to western washington to get away and relax a bit. Things were getting stressful at home, and we hadn't really been able to spend much time with each other, so we both took a couple days off work and headed to Seattle on Friday. Most of Friday, our actual anniversary was spent on the road, and we got into Quinault River Inn at about 9:30pm. It's on the tip of the Olympic National Forest, and we were going to go hiking along some of the trails up there. The pictures and information we had gotten said it was like a rainforest, so we were anxious to see it all. So here's just a few pictures from our first day, which we hiked about 5 miles total.

Thumbs up mom!

I love this pic. I think it's my favorite!

What a strong man!

What a good looking couple!

Look at me! I'm a tree hugger!

Fourth of July Trip

So on the fourth of July weekend, Rory was wanting to take a trip to southern Idaho to pick up his latest project, a 1971 Chevy. (I think.....) We left late Thursday and got into Declo around 5am. It was a long and exhausting ride. So these first couple pictures were taken the day we got there. This is the picture of Rory's 'new' truck project. I think he was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the work he has to do on it. And of course, a picture of Ethan being a cheese ball. lol

The next couple pictures are just some pics while we were hanging around. Pics with the family, etc.

Grandpa is wondering if he really is related to this nut sitting next to him.

These last pictures was taken the night of the 4th. We had own firework show, and luckily, no one blew any limbs off or anything like that. Rory was doing a little dance with the sparklers, trying to make them more interesting. Ethan really didn't want anything to do with them, and was trying to get them as far away from him as possible.

After all the fun was over, we were having some more fun with the camera. I just love my boys!!!

New friends

So we just recently had some new neighbors move in, and they have a little girl that is just a couple months younger than Ethan. She is a cutie and Ethan really likes playing with her. He especially likes playing with her toys too. Here's a couple pictures of them on their motorbikes. It's funny, does something look out of place with these two? What's with the small pink bike Ethan? lol She's a lot braver than him too, when she see's bugs she tries to pick them up while Ethan is terrified of them. Opposites attract right?

One Crazy Weekend.

So Friday after Rory got off work, we loaded up the jeep and drove to Southern Idaho. We got there about 4am and was exhausted! The next day, Saturday, we invited everyone over to the house to catch up and see everyone. It was great to see everyone. The last time we had a chance to go down was December 2007! That was just way to long ago. It surprised me a little to see how well Ethan got attached to the family. Usually he is very reserved and shy with people he just met, but he was not shy at all! Sunday morning we got up and ended up leaving around 12:30 and got home last night and just crashed. It all went by so fast, I can hardly believe it. But here's some great pics from Saturday! Enjoy!

Man, these kids are getting big so fast! Nathan's a wanna be gangsta, and Nick is just a sweet quiet kid. They are adorable though ( don't let them know I said that) and i wish we could see them more often.

Here's a couple pictures of Rory's other family The Bennetts. I just love this family to pieces, they are so sweet, (well except for Jeremiah) and have always welcomed me into their family. Ethan was getting pretty attached to Don too, who would walk him around on the big boys bike.

Here's a couple pictures of Ethan and Danette's girls Maci, and cute little Madison. It took quite a while to get these two wild childs to sit down and look at the camera at the same time. Then one of the wires was sticking up and Ethan kept saying that he needed to fix it. It was so cute!

One problem we had though, that has been pretty typical of Ethan is that he didn't want to share any toys. Even with little miss Madison who just wanted to eat them. She is so adorable, and looks just like her mama. It sucks that I didn't get any pics of Danette (although knowing her, she's probably happy I didn't)

In this picture Rory got this really cool locker from his dad, (who made it for him for christmas) Rory really liked it, and it was a little tight of a ride coming home with this in the back seat!

So here's a picture of all the cousins, except for one missing that we didn't get to see. What a cute bunch of kids!

So to deal with the 10 hour drive, when Ethan wasn't sleeping or eating, or screaming (which was pretty often) he was either watching superwhy on my ipod, or Finding Nemo of the DVD player. He's really concentrating hard! lol. It was a great trip, and as always we were glad to get home, but we will miss everyone down south. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!
